ARIEMA attends the Third General Assembly of the ECO2FUEL project in Antwerp and Mol, Belgium
The ECO2FUEL project, carried out by a consortium of 15 companies including Ariema Energía y Medio Ambiente, has continued to make satisfactory progress over the past six months.
This was confirmed by consortium representatives during the project's Third General Assembly, which took place last week in the cities of Antwerp and Mol, Belgium. David Solera, Director of the company's Engineering Department, attended on behalf of Ariema Energía y Medio Ambiente.
During the meeting, the next steps required to achieve the objectives set by the project, which is due to conclude in 2026, were assessed.
ECO2FUEL is a pioneering project funded by the European Union (Horizon 2020 Programme) that aims to design, build and validate the world's first low-temperature electrochemical system for the direct conversion of CO2 – with a planned capacity of 1 MW – to produce carbon-based compounds for mobility applications.
As part of the consortium, Ariema is contributing its expertise as the first Spanish manufacturer of electrolysers using its own technology to design the stack, a component that forms the fundamental core of the electrolyser.
At Ariema, we are pleased to collaborate on a project that aims to promote the reuse of carbon dioxide generated by industrial processes, thereby preventing its release into the atmosphere and contributing to decarbonisation.
