28 April 2025

Madrid, 24 April 2025 – On 29 April, ARIEMA will take part in the event organised by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology and Innovation (CDTI) entitled “Technological Priorities for the Commercial Aviation of the Future”. The event will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (Pº de la Castellana, 162 – Madrid), and will bring together the leading industrial, technological and institutional players in Spain's aerospace sector.

An event to define the future of sustainable aviation

The event will aim to explore the technological advances needed to transform commercial aviation into a competitive, scalable and climate-neutral sector. Coordinated by the CDTI and with the active participation of the Spanish Aerospace Platform (PAE), the event will present industrial strategies, funding opportunities and specific examples of innovation in areas such as aircraft design and production, onboard systems, operational autonomy and sustainable propulsion technologies.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from organisations such as Airbus, Aernnova, CT Ingenieros, UPV, CATEC, ITP Aero, and CDTI, among others. The event is structured into thematic sessions and will conclude with an opportunity for institutional networking.

Hydrogen as a strategic pillar in the aviation sector's energy transition

In this context, ARIEMA will take part in the “Propulsion and Decarbonisation Technologies” round-table discussion, scheduled from 12:15 to 13:05, alongside Airbus UpNext, Dovetail and CTA Basque Country, and moderated by ITP Aero. ARIEMA's contribution will focus on the role of green hydrogen as a key energy carrier in the decarbonisation of air transport, with particular emphasis on its use as an emissions-free auxiliary power source.

ARIEMA will highlight its technological expertise in pressurised alkaline electrolysis and its active involvement in high-impact R&D projects in the aeronautical sector. Without going into technical details, reference will be made to its contribution to initiatives led by major integrators such as Airbus, aimed at redefining the energy systems of future zero-emission aircraft.

Relevance to the sector

The event comes at a decisive time for the European aerospace sector, as technological innovation and sustainability increasingly converge. The contribution of companies such as ARIEMA reinforces Spain's commitment to climate objectives, while positioning the country's technological capabilities in the development of clean, safe and commercially viable energy solutions.
