IRON NPE – Research into new technologies and demonstrators of onboard systems for the use of hydrogen in aircraft.

The IRON NPE project aims to design and develop the architectures of new sustainable hydrogen systems capable of supplying auxiliary power to an aircraft. It also seeks to develop a complete ground-based test facility capable of carrying out the full range of tests required to qualify and validate the new systems. 

In this project, Ariema develops a 1 MW multi-stack alkaline electrolyser, representative of on-site hydrogen production at ground-based refuelling facilities.
