OCEANH2
OCEANH2 – Offshore green hydrogen generation, storage and distribution.
- Funding body: CDTI
- Call: Science and Innovation Missions
- Partners: Acciona Industrial (coord.), Acciona Construcción, Acciona Ingeniería, Redexis, BlueNewables, TSI, Wunder Hexicon and Ariema.
- Duration: 44 months (November 2020 – June 2024).
- Total budget: €5,978,944.
The OCEANH2 project aims to design and experimentally validate the first offshore green hydrogen plant based on floating wind and photovoltaic technologies. To this end, different scenarios for the deployment of a hybrid offshore electricity generation system are being studied, assessing design alternatives throughout the entire hydrogen production, storage and distribution chain.
In this project, Ariema designs, builds and tests an electrolysis device to generate hydrogen from seawater, investigating the most efficient methods for water desalination and purification.
